Signed up for the HGTV Green Home and You Should Too

The wife reminded me that the HGTV Green Home Sweepstakes started again. I signed up today. The website had a link to widget you can place on your website to make it easier to sign up. I guess bookmarking is no longer enough. I placed the code in this post. If it is real cool it will update next year with the next green home…
Interesting part of the widget is the collection of online communities out there, I was aware of four: Facebook, Myspace, Blogger and WordPress; apparently there are quite a few more options…
From left to right: myspace, facebook, myyearbook, dashboard (it’s a Mac thing), google (igoogle?), live (Go Microscoft!), netvibes, hi5 & webs
More from left to right: zanga, friendstir, tagged, blackplanet, blogger, univision, typepad, livejournal, & wordpress
And more from left to right: hoverspot, multiply, eons, pageflakes, webwag, orkut (I linked to their about page, seems to be part of google), vox, piczo, perfspot & squidoo
If you are thinking of joining any of these check to see if any of your friends have and join the one they did; you’ll have more fun. Hint you can tell cool social networks by whether or not they advertise on the home page. If you see random google ads on the “welcome please join page” then maybe they are not so cool. We advertise on our home page so we are not cool, but then again, as nerds, we never were.

Thanks! I was just so amazed at how many other social networks exist out there. The guys that built the widget for HGTV deserve all the credit. I just looked them up and linked them for my own reference after seeing them in the widget.
