Our son has quite a collection of Transformers toys and is always asking for more. Inside each Transformer toy package is a little foldout with pictures of other Transformers toys you can buy. We pay little attention to it, but our son calls it a map and spends a lot of time staring at it. About once a day he takes the map and brings it to us pointing and says I want this one, and about every two weeks we cave and buy another Transformer toy.
Well the last time he did this we said he has to wait until X-mas, and in fact, he has to make a list for Santa. He immediately started naming this Transformer toy and this one and this one… We said wait. You have to choose 4 things to ask Santa, of those four things, one must be a book, a toy, a game and a piece of clothing.
Without pause, our son looks at his Transformer “map” and says I want this toy, Megatron, this game, Shift Tech Optimus Prime (Image 1) and then flips the map over and continues, this book, from transformer publishing and this shirt, yellow Bumble Bee tee-shirt (Image 2).

Ok, we are not political groupies; we are more like your average American family, we tend to follow politics the way a puppy follows a hot dog. With that said, we both watched the Democratic National Convention coverage and the Republican National Convention converage on TV. We both like Obama and McCain. My wife really likes Obama and I really like McCain. Anyway time went by and we had not watched the news and this morning we could not remember who Obama picked for his running mate. We knew it was not Hillary and we knew Palin was McCain’s right off without pause. Considering all the hype this past year in the media leading up to the conventions, we knew Obama and Hillary were on top in the race for the Democrats and the guy who was endorced by Chuck Norris was out on the Republcan side –bummer for Chuck. I think the Republicans made a great move with the VP choice mainly because we had to sit down and google Obama to find out who is running mate is. Joe Biden is Obamas running mate. We made a link to your wiki page so we will not forget anymore. And to be fare we made a link to Palin’s wiki too, though we probably will not forget her.

Our son is 4 years old and from the evidence on our car door you can plainly see he has an interest in art. Tomorrow he starts his first art class at the local university. When he drew on our car he looked so proud. He said dad, mom, it’s a transformer. We really hope he likes art as much as we do.

Google and the local news had news coverage about CERN’s super conducting super collider (Large Hadron Collider) (wiki) to be used to help scientists help uncover the building blocks of the universe. Well my wife Geko is reading a book Angles and Demons by Dan Brown which coincidentally was also talking about the same project. Her book is the Illustrated version, it even has photos of the super collider. Local news played up on the “concerns that it could cause the end of the world”.
